Congressman Duncan Hunter called for citizens to rally for Tahmooressi, and citizens from both sides of the aisle, and both coasts responded. Attorney Tamara Holder, a legal/Democratic Fox News Contributor and at least one official from MoveOn.org are in support of the effort spearheaded by Loudon.
Sgt. Tahmooressi’s mother spoke with Dr. Loudon by phone on Memorial Day, and asked her to personally thank those willing to come out to the rally this Wednesday and stand for her son. “That’s what keeps him positive,” she added. But she said she wants to hear more in the media, and more from US leaders, “I want to hear the US government say more than three words about my son, that they will “raise the issue” has little meaning to me.”
Tamara Holder said, “I understand why Mexican officials would still be angry about the United States’ gun running operation, Fast and Furious that put thousands of guns into the hands of Mexican drug lords, but taking your wrath out on a mentally wounded soldier who fought terrorism for the sake of innocent Americans and Mexicans is a poor tactic for expressing outrage. They need to free Andrew now and find another way to diplomatically seek redress.”
Free Tahmooressi rally leaders are calling on all Americans to sign the White House petition in order to demand and official White House response, but supporters of the marine and war hero are taking to social media and public events in order to ramp up demands for immediate diplomatic efforts on both sides of the border.
“We demand nothing less than the immediate release of Andrew by Mexico and the exertion of the fullest range of diplomatic and economic sanctions on Mexico by the Obama Administration until this brave hero is released. There is a life at stake here and we will never tolerate any war hero being left behind,” said Dr. Gina Loudon.
The rally is scheduled at 5:30pm Wednesday, May 28th at 5775 Camiones Way, San Ysidro, CA 92173.
